Reliobond® 4042-1 – Thermoplastic Urethane Resin (RB4042-1)
Reliobond® 4042-1 is a solution of thermoplastic urethane resin. This product can be used as an adhesive or sealant for flexible or rigid PVC. Reliobond 4042-1 can be used as a seam sealant for PVC aircraft escape slides, raincoats and tent fabrics. It contains biocide to protect against fungal growth during storage.
Substrates should be free of dirt, moisture, oils and other contaminates. Clean with alcohol solvent if necessary and allow surfaces to dry before applying adhesive. Reliobond® 4042-1 can be applied by brush, roller or squeeze bottle. Apply Reliobond 4042-1 directly to both bonding surfaces. Allow the adhesive to partially dry for 2-3 minutes. Mate the bonding surfaces and fixture so that the surfaces remain in contact until the adhesive has fully dried. For seam sealing applications, apply to seam and allow to dry for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Reliobond® 4042-1 is flammable and should be stored below 100°F (37.7°C) in tightly sealed containers away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks, or other potential sources of ignition.
