MS Permanent Sealer – Traffic Detector Loop Sealant

Ruscoe MS Traffic Loop Detector Sealant is a one-component, flexible sealant engineered for use in saw cuts for traffic detector loops. Ruscoe MS Traffic Loop Detector Sealant flows smoothly and easily into joints and cracks providing a permanent durable seal. The “controlled flow” technology of Ruscoe MS Traffic Loop Detector Sealant offers a fast and efficient application. This product is highly UV resistant and does not contain solvents or isocyanates. The sealant contains low VOC’s and can be used in all 50 states.

SUGGESTED USES
Ruscoe MS Traffic Loop Detector Sealant is ideal for use in any electrical situation. Airfield lighting can be sealed with Ruscoe MS Traffic Loop Detector Sealant. Security gates with exposed wire can be held in place. Ruscoe MS Traffic Loop Detector Sealant will seal any kind of conductive loop as well as the loop connections between the loop and the wires and the lead-in wires at the pull box where problems occur due to the boxes filling with water.

FEATURES
Easy application – one part ready to use as supplied; no mixing or heating required; dispensed directly from container.

  • No solvents
  • No shrinkage
  • No Isocyanates
  • Non-yellowing
  • Paintable
  1. Make saw cut for the placement of necessary wires.
  2. Blow out saw cut with compressed air. The air used should be filtered to ensure that it is oil and moisture free.
  3. Apply sealant to clean dry surface that is free of any contaminants that could adversely affect adhesion.
  4. When slot is clean, place a 1/4″ bead of sealant in the bottom of the saw cut prior to the installation of the wire (helps to provide total encapsulation as recommended by the FHWA’s “Traffic Detector Handbook” dated April 1985, report #FHWA-IP-85-1).
  5. Install the wire while seating it into the sealant with a rounded wood tool such as a tongue depressor. This method will prevent any cutting of the wire insulation.
  6. Fill remaining void in the saw cut with sealant from bottom to top to within 1/16″ of the road surface.
  7. Sealant is self-leveling, so no tooling is necessary.
  8. Traffic may be resumed within 1 hour without pick-up or tracking.
  9. Cure time is dependent on temperature and humidity.

Traffic may be resumed within 1 hour without picking up or tracking. Cured products may be painted with most industrial & consumer paints. Testing prior to painting is recommended.

When stored in unopened, original containers at or below 80°F (27°C), Ruscoe Permanent Sealer MS has a shelf life of one year from the date of shipping. Keep all containers tightly closed.
