Ruscoe’s DH56 is a black, conductive, polychloroprene rubber-based sealant for the edges of deicer boots on small aircraft.
Surfaces should be reasonably free of moisture, dirt, oils, or other contamination. Use soapy water or alcohol solvents to clean wing edge and boot material where DH56 is to be applied. Allow to full dry before applying DH56. Mix DH56 well before application using a spatula, tongue depressor or air mixer. Apply DH56 using brush or roller according to deicer boot manufacturer’s recommendation.
DH56 is flammable and should be stored below 100°F (37.7°C) in tightly sealed containers away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks or other potential sources of ignition. Shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture when stored appropriately. See Safety Data Sheet for more information on storage and disposal.
